Winter break's over- Happy Learning Time is back!

Welcome back. With all my classes on break for the winter, I took a hiatus from posting here. Now that we're back, I thought I'd provide some tips on retention. If I'd been thinking ahead, I would've done this before we took a break...

1. Every time you learn a new word, use it in a funny sentence. For example, 経済(keizai) means: Economics. 世界の経済を食べたい。This means: I want to eat world economics. It doesn't need to make sense for you to remember it, it just needs to be memorable. And the more ridiculous, the more indelibly the word becomes etched in your memory.

2. Play しりとり(shiritori) in your head. This is a vocab recall game that forces your mind to remember words from all categories. You start by saying Shiritori, then you come up with a word that starts with the last letter (or syllable, really) of the first word. For example: "しりとり、陸上(りくじょう、rikurjoo,)上手(じょうず、jyoozu,) ズボン(zubon)
Rikujyoo means track, like track and field, jyoozu means good at something, and zubon means pants. Keep going until you run out of words!

Please post a comment listing the string of words you came up with.
